Despair
Silently she treads into the room,
Closing the door, her heart filled with gloom,
She sticks a finger down her throat,
Closing her eyes, she can hear their gloats.
She watches what she ate course down into the porcelain bowl.
Crying a little, she lets out a growl.
Reaching for the flush handle, she gives a violent pull,
"Trying to be thinner and prettier? That's impossible for you!"
She can hear their voices,
She can hear their sneers,
She can hear their taunts,
She just hoped it wasn't real.
She hated this ordeal,
Puking after every meal,
Wiping the sweat from her brow,
She gave a tired groan.
There was nothing she could do,
She hated feeling so blue,
The vomit gets washed away,
She thought,"Good riddance anyway."
Reaching for her trusty penknife,
The one that would yet again cut her life,
She brought it again to her wrist,
And gave it another cruel slit.
Beads of ruby gathered around the slice,
Stinging tears filled her eyes,
She muttered,"No pain, no gain."
"Physical pain is better than emotional pain."
Standing up swiftly, she washes her face and hands,
To rid it of any pain and blood from that slit,
She unlocks the door, hiding her despair,
And walks out acting like she simply didn't care.
