Desire
The girl closed her eyes and tried to block out all the mean things she could hear from her parents' room.
I couldn't tell you why she felt that way,
She felt it everyday. They had been going at it for 3 nights already. Weren't they tired? Didn't they want to return to their happy family again?
She contemplated climbing out from her window, causing a commotion, letting her parents know how much they'd neglected her, wanting everything to go back to normal again.
And I couldn't help her,
I just watched her make the same mistakes again. Her black eyes glazed over. She was used to this. She could manage it.
She wanted to rid herself of emotions.
What's wrong, what's wrong now?
Too many, too many problems.
Don't know where she belongs, where she belongs. She wanted to make herself into a robot, devoid of feelings.
That way, she wouldn't be affected or hurt whenever her parents fought again.
She wants to go home, but nobody's home.
It's where she lies, broken inside.
With no place to go, no place to go to dry her eyes.
Broken inside. To her, emotions were like drugs. They could make you feel happy one moment, and in hell the other. They had the ability to hook you, pull you into their false world of happiness, and there's no way you could get out.
To put it simply, emotions were to be vanquished.
Open your eyes and look outside, find the reasons why.
You've been rejected, and now you can't find what you left behind.
She hadn't blamed either parent, really. Both thought the other was at fault.
All this was the work of emotions again, wasn't it? She snarled at no one in particular, wishing that she wasn't an only child.
Be strong, be strong now.
Too many, too many problems.
Don't know where she belongs, where she belongs.
She was a selfish girl. She didn't want to suffer all this alone. She needed someone to help her through. Like a sibling.
The girl laughed bitterly. Sure, she had friends. But her friends couldn't be there all the time. She knew she was demanding and selfish, but hey, who could blame her?
She wants to go home, but nobody's home.
It's where she lies, broken inside.
With no place to go, no place to go to dry her eyes.
Broken inside.
She exhaled at the sheer touch of the shiny silver blade she had bought not long ago.
Mm, impressive. That thing looked like it could slice through a concrete block like jelly.
Her feelings she hides.
Her dreams she can't find.
Slowly, she brought the blade to her wrist. With a swift motion, the girl sliced open her wrist and giggled at the sight of blood dripping all over her bedroom floor.
She knew she wasn't normal. All her friends said so.
She's losing her mind.
She's fallen behind.
She doesn't crave for materialistic desires, neither does she long for attention. She doesn't pine for love nor understanding.
All she needed was a little push, the girl thought as she licked her dripping blood from her wrist, pausing every now and then to smirk in satisfaction.
She can't find her place.
She's losing her faith.
Her vision was starting to blur, but did she give a damn? No. She knows she wasn't supposed to do this. It was sick and wrong.
She was a simple girl. She doesn't need that branded top nor those newly-released limited edition sneakers to be happy. She indulges herself in the pleasures of the mind and subsequently, offers nothing but utter disdain to those who look down on it.
She's fallen from grace.
She's all over the place. It was a simple world for her. Live for yourself. Shame on those who desired materialistic happiness, shame on those who desired pleasures of anything else but the human mind.
She wants to go home, but nobody's home.
It's where she lies, broken inside. She smiled faintly as her head throbbed from the blood loss. Yes, her parents were still fighting. Would they care about her dying in a matter of seconds? No. All they know was that she's not normal.
With no place to go, no place to go to dry her eyes. She merely desires the pleasures of the mind and solitude.
Broken inside.Nothing else matters.
